In the early morning hours of July 16, 2021, a grim discovery was made in an industrial area of Kansas City, Kansas. A person arriving for work happened upon a car that had crashed and, upon closer inspection, found two men inside who were unconscious and not breathing. The authorities were immediately alerted, arriving at the 700 block of Pawnee Avenue at approximately 5 a.m.
The two men, later identified as 23-year-old Hispanic male Jesus Francisco Quintero and 22-year-old Christian
Franco, were pronounced dead at the scene. It was determined that both men had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department's Major Case Unit launched a homicide investigation into the double slaying.
In the days following the discovery, law enforcement officials appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a break in the case. They urged anyone with knowledge of the events leading up to the deaths of Quintero and Franco to contact the TIPS Hotline. However, despite the ongoing investigation, there has been no public announcement regarding any arrests made in connection with the murders. The case remains an open and active investigation, leaving the community and the families of the two young men awaiting answers and justice. As of now, no suspects have been publicly identified or taken into custody.
