In the late morning of September 29, 2022, tragedy struck in Topeka, Kansas, claiming the life of 55-year-old Gregory Dean Butts, a White male. The incident, which unfolded in the 3500 block of SW Kerry Avenue, was the result of a shooting that left Butts with a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual was also wounded in the attack and rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
