In the late hours of a Monday night in Washington, D.C., the life of Ronnell Daniels, a 40-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On May 19, 2014, at approximately 11:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the unit block of 55th Street, Southeast. There, they found Daniels suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and transported Daniels to a local hospital in an attempt to save his life.
Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The cause of his death was determined to be the shooting.
The Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch launched an investigation into Daniels' death. The case was listed among the unsolved homicides for that year, and authorities have sought assistance from the public to gather more information about the incident. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his murder.
