In the late hours of a Friday night in Washington, D.C., tragedy befell 23-year-old Kevin Cortez Johnson. Shortly before midnight on June 26, 2015, police were called to the 1200 block of Raum Street in Northeast D.C., a street in the Trinidad neighborhood. There, they discovered Johnson suffering from gunshot wounds. He was a resident of Southeast D.C.
