Do you know who murdered Miguel Henry? On the night of Friday, October 14, 2005, a young man’s life was cut short on a street in Northeast Washington, D.C. Miguel Henry, a 20-year-old male, was found lying on the ground in the 300 block of 50th Street NE at approximately 11:50 p.m. by police officers who were drawn to the neighborhood by the sound of gunshots. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body.
Emergency services transported him to Howard University Hospital, but his injuries were too severe, and
he was pronounced dead about thirty minutes after his arrival. At the time of his death, authorities stated that Henry was wanted on an arrest warrant for a carjacking in Maryland. However, detectives did not immediately know if this was connected to his killing, and the shooting was initially thought to be related to an unspecified dispute.
In the years following the incident, the case of Miguel Henry's death has remained unsolved. The Metropolitan Police Department has continued to seek the public's assistance in gathering information regarding the homicide. A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his death. Despite these efforts, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the murder. The investigation remains open and is being handled by the department's Homicide Branch.
