Death by Force

On October 8, 2021, at approximately 3:23 PM, Lester Mangum, a 33-year-old resident of Southwest, Washington, DC, was fatally shot in the 3900 block of South Capitol Street, Southwest. Responding officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District found Mangum inside an establishment, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and EMS, Mangum succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
