On a Sunday morning in Washington, D.C., the life of 22-year-old Joseph Simmons was tragically cut short. On January 3, 2021, at approximately 11:23 a.m., gunshots echoed in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast. Officers from the Sixth District responded to reports of a shooting and discovered a grim scene. Joseph Simmons was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
