On a Friday evening in Washington, D.C., the life of 56-year-old Marcos Christobal Brooks was brought to a tragic and violent end. It was around 9:00 p.m. on September 18, 2020, in the rear of the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE, when the sound of gunshots shattered the night. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered Mr. Brooks, a Black/African American male, unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds.
