In the early evening of April 10, 2024, the Carver-Langston neighborhood of Northeast Washington, D.C. was shattered by an eruption of gunfire. Aubrey McLeod, a 29-year-old male, was caught in the violence and fatally shot in the 1100 block of 21st Street, NE. The attack, which occurred at approximately 6:08 p.m., was not a targeted assault on a single individual, but a brazen act of violence that left a community reeling and multiple people wounded, including two children.
