On a late summer evening in Washington, D.C., the life of 22-year-old Davon Wade was tragically cut short. On Friday, September 4, 2015, just before midnight, a shooting erupted in the 3000 block of 25th Street NE, in the Langdon neighborhood. The incident, which is believed to have occurred during a party at a residence, resulted in three men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and two of the injured men were transported to local hospitals by
DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services with serious injuries. Davon Wade, the third victim, was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle. Despite the efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on Saturday, September 5, 2015. His death marked the 106th homicide in the District of Columbia that year, a figure that surpassed the total number of homicides for the entirety of 2014.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation into the triple shooting. However, law enforcement officials did not release any information regarding a possible motive for the attack.
