Responding to a report of a shooting at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers from the Seventh District of the Metropolitan Police Department arrived to a grim scene.
They discovered a young man, later identified as Juwan McCrae, a resident of Southeast, D.C., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were promptly dispatched, and McCrae was rushed to a nearby hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, his injuries proved to be too severe. McCrae was pronounced dead at the hospital, leaving a community to mourn and a family to grapple with an immeasurable loss.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Juwan McCrae's death. In an effort to bring those responsible to justice, the department is offering a substantial reward of up to $25,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in this homicide. As of now, the investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The police are urging anyone with information about this case to come forward and assist in their investigation.
