On a Friday morning, March 17, 2017, in Washington, D.C., 33-year-old Steven Edward Stewart Jr., a Black male, was shot and killed. The incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. in the 2200 block of Minnesota Avenue, SE. The Metropolitan Police Department promptly began an investigation into the homicide, seeking help from the public to gather information about the fatal shooting.
