In the early moments of a Thursday morning, just after midnight on June 29, 2017, the sound of gunshots echoed through a neighborhood in Northeast Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the 800 block of 46th Street, NE, to investigate the reports. Upon their arrival at approximately 12:17 a.m., they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
