A quiet Sunday night in Northeast Washington, D.C. turned tragic on April 27, 2025, ending in the death of 28-year-old Kevin Edwards. The fatal incident unfolded in the 4400 block of Foote Street, Northeast, where Edwards and a woman were shot.
Responding to a report of a shooting at approximately 10:12 p.m., Sixth District officers arrived at the 100 block of 54th Street, Southeast, where they discovered Edwards and an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C.
Fire and EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene and transported both victims to a local hospital for treatment.
Despite all lifesaving efforts at the hospital, Kevin Edwards succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The female victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the shooting as a homicide. At this time, no arrests have been made, and the police have not released any information about potential suspects. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek assistance from the public to bring those responsible to justice.
