In the early morning hours of July 5, 2018, the life of 26-year-old Derek Jeffrey Taylor was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Newcomb Street in Southeast Washington, D.C. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
