In the early afternoon of a Wednesday in Southeast Washington, the life of 19-year-old Alvin Barnes was tragically cut short. On October 23, 2019, at approximately 12:12 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2200 block of Alabama Avenue, SE. Upon arrival, they discovered the young male suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
