On October 23, 2019, Alvin Barnes, a 19-year-old resident of Southeast Washington, DC, was fatally shot in the head on the 2200 block of Alabama Avenue, SE. The incident occurred around 12:12 PM, and despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Barnes was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
