In the pre-dawn hours of Father's Day, June 21, 2020, the sound of gunshots echoed through the 1400 block of Kenilworth Avenue, Northeast in Washington, D.C. When police arrived at the scene around 2:20 a.m., they discovered a tragic scene. Twenty-three-year-old Larkia Izlar, a female from Southeast, D.C., was found inside a car, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Alongside her was 28-year-old Timothy Hinton of Suitland, Maryland, who had also been shot and killed.
