On a tragic Monday in the nation's capital, Mary Francis Knight, a 51-year-old woman, lost her life in a senseless act of violence. On September 16, 2013, the accomplished cybersecurity professional was fatally shot during a mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard. Knight, a resident of Reston, Virginia, was a dedicated information technology specialist for the Naval Sea Systems Command and also served as an adjunct professor at Northern Virginia Community College.
