Murdered

Charnice Milton, a 27-year-old community journalist in Washington, D.C., was tragically killed on the night of May 27, 2015. Milton was waiting for a bus near the Skyland Town Center when she was caught in the crossfire of a drive-by shooting. Reports indicate that she may have been used as a human shield by one of the shooters' intended targets. She was struck by a stray bullet and died at the scene. The shooting occurred around 9:40 p.m. on Good Hope Road, in Southeast D.C.
