On a summer afternoon in Washington, D.C., a burst of gunfire shattered the peace, leaving a scene of chaos and tragedy. When the violence subsided, 28-year-old Devin Peterson, a resident of Northeast, DC, lay dead from gunshot wounds. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at approximately 4:51 p.m. in the 3600 block of 14th Street, Northwest.
The shooting that claimed Peterson’s life was part of a larger, brazen attack that left eight other individuals—seven adult males
