On September 26, 2020, at approximately 11:22 PM, Anthony D. Lee, a 25-year-old resident of Washington, D.C., was tragically shot and killed in the 2900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Lee was walking south on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue with a friend when three men approached from behind and opened fire as he crossed Malcolm X Avenue. Lee was struck once in the back and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
