On the night of March 8, 2022, 56-year-old James Jackson Jr. was found unconscious and unresponsive on the 3400 block of Sherman Avenue, Northwest, Washington, DC. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fourth District responded to a report of a shooting around 9:50 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound.
