On January 15, 2014, Vincent Purvis, a 20-year-old resident of Washington, DC, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds near a closed school in the area. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital where he was listed in extremely critical condition. Despite medical efforts, Purvis succumbed to his injuries.
