On the evening of October 9, 2020, in the 1600 block of W Street, Southeast, 28-year-old Yisa Jeffcoat was fatally shot. At approximately 9:56 p.m., officers from the Seventh District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered Mr. Jeffcoat suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy later confirmed that ...
