In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in Washington, D.C., a sequence of events unfolded that tragically ended the life of Antonio Wilkinson, a 30-year-old male resident of Northeast, DC. On March 3, 2021, at approximately 10:07 pm, officers from the Sixth District of the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the unit block of 35th Street, Northeast, following a report of a traffic accident.
What they discovered upon arrival was far more than a simple collision.
Inside a vehicle that had struck a parked car, they found Antonio Wilkinson suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel were quickly on the scene and transported him to a local hospital. Despite all life-saving efforts by medical staff, Wilkinson was pronounced dead.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch are actively investigating the case, which has been classified as a homicide. The department is seeking assistance from the public to gather more information about the shooting death of Mr. Antonio DeAndre Wilkinson. A substantial reward of up to $25,000 is being offered to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime.
