In the late hours of an April evening, the sound of gunfire shattered the night in the 400 block of 37th Place, Southeast Washington, D.C. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the residential building around 10:26 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021, they discovered a grim scene. Inside, two men were suffering from gunshot wounds.
