On June 17, 2021, at approximately 5:02 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District responded to a report of a shooting in the 3100 Block of Waclark Place, Southeast, Washington, DC. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Demonte Thompson suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported Thompson to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased after all lifesaving efforts failed.
