On the evening of Saturday, October 30, 2021, in the 1800 block of Gainesville Street in Southeast Washington, D.C., a burst of violence shattered the night. Cecil Morris, a 28-year-old male, was discovered with gunshot wounds around 7:43 p.m. Emergency services were promptly dispatched, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
