In the early hours of a Tuesday morning, the quiet of a Southeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On November 16, 2021, at approximately 2:01 a.m., officers from the Seventh District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 4300 block of Wheeler Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
