In the late morning of September 6, 2011, a tragedy unfolded in a bustling IHOP restaurant in Carson City, Nevada, forever altering the lives of many. Among the victims of this senseless act of violence was Christian Riege, a 38-year-old Caucasian male and a Master Sergeant in the Nevada Army National Guard. He was enjoying a meal with fellow service members when the gunman, 32-year-old Eduardo Sencion, entered the establishment and opened fire.
