On June 29, 2016, a tragic incident unfolded in Las Vegas, Nevada, resulting in the death of 14-year-old Xonajuk Dej-Oudom. The events began when Metro Police received calls about a woman, Phoukeo Dej-Oudom, running through traffic near Torrey Pines Drive and Lake Mead Boulevard. A good Samaritan picked her up and drove her to a nearby CVS pharmacy, with her husband, Jason Dej-Oudom, following them in a black car.
