Cresencio Flores-Salas, 61, a Hispanic/Latino male from Las Vegas, was shot to death on the afternoon of November 18, 2015, inside a modest home on Jessica Avenue, just off East Charleston Boulevard near Maryland Parkway. A neighbor told police they heard two men arguing and then two gunshots. Officers arrived around 2 p.m. and found Flores-Salas in the doorway of the residence; the coroner later ruled that he died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head and neck.
Detectives noted the men knew each other, and the dispute appeared to turn physical before the shooting.
Within two days, investigators publicly identified a suspect: 32-year-old Omar Valencia-Garcia of Las Vegas. An arrest warrant was issued for murder with a deadly weapon and robbery with a deadly weapon, and in January 2016 Metro Police asked the community for help to find him, saying the motive remained unclear. Contemporaneous reports indicated Valencia-Garcia had not yet been located. No subsequent news reports reviewed announced an arrest in the case.
