On October 1, 2017, Bailey Dee Schweitzer, a 20-year-old from Bakersfield, California, was among the victims of the devastating mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. Schweitzer, described as a vibrant and cheerful individual, was attending the festival when the tragedy occurred.
