In the early morning hours of Sunday, October 19, 2014, a birthday celebration at Club Dynasty in Waynesboro, Georgia, turned into a scene of chaos and violence, ending the life of 24-year-old Likenzie Holliday. Holliday, a male, was fatally shot inside the club located on Lawson Road. Another individual, 24-year-old Andre Harris, Jr., was also killed in the shooting.
The festive atmosphere of the private party soured shortly before 4:00 a.m. when an argument broke out on the dance floor. According to witness accounts, the dispute, which allegedly began during a twerking contest, quickly escalated. The verbal altercation devolved into a physical fight, and in the ensuing turmoil, firearms were drawn. Both Holliday and Harris were struck by the gunfire and died at the scene.
As panic erupted and attendees fled the club, a third person was reportedly hit by a car and required hospitalization for their injuries. The incident was noted as the second nightclub shooting in Burke County that same weekend, with both events reportedly stemming from arguments.
In the aftermath of the deadly shooting, law enforcement launched an investigation that led to an arrest. Police subsequently charged a suspect with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection with the deaths at Club Dynasty.
