On May 9, 2018, 44-year-old Scott Anthony Hayse was fatally shot in the head during a confrontation in Las Vegas, Nevada. The incident occurred on the 1200 block of Melville Drive, where Hayse was working on a car with a friend. A third individual arrived, leading to a physical altercation that culminated in Hayse's death.
