According to his arrest report, Serrano claimed that he shot Ayala because he felt disrespected by Ayala. The dispute allegedly began in a bar where Ayala's behavior, including reckless driving after leaving the bar, put Serrano at risk of being stopped by police due to his outstanding warrants.
