In the late hours of a Friday evening in Las Vegas, on November 15, 2019, the life of 29-year-old Mackenzie Leeann McGrail was tragically cut short. Police were called to a residence on La Sombra Street at approximately 9:40 p.m., where they discovered a grim scene. Inside the home, a man and a woman were found, both having succumbed to gunshot wounds.
Authorities identified the female victim as Mackenzie L. McGrail.
Her death was officially ruled a homicide by the Clark County coroner's office, with the cause being a gunshot wound to the head. The man found with her was 34-year-old Brandon W. Beck, who was determined to have died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Investigators concluded that the incident was an apparent murder-suicide.
According to police, McGrail and Beck were in a relationship. The tragedy was compounded by the presence of four children, all under the age of ten, who were inside the home at the time of the fatal events. Both McGrail and Beck were pronounced dead at the scene, leaving a devastating impact on the lives of those young children and their families.
