The altercation took place in the parking lot of a barber shop on East Desert Inn Road, where a Super Bowl party was underway. Gonzalez was identified by police as a suspect in this stabbing. The individual who was stabbed was expected to survive their injuries.
Following the stabbing, Gonzalez left the scene. A short time later, police received another call reporting a man who had been shot. This led them to a location about half a mile from the barber shop, where they discovered Noah Richard Gonzalez's body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the immediate aftermath, police stated that they were working to piece together the events that transpired between the stabbing and the fatal shooting. Early reports indicated that no arrests had been made, and detectives were actively searching for the shooter.
