On the evening of March 17, 2021, a heated argument shattered the quiet of an apartment in Las Vegas. Gerardo Romero, a 28-year-old Hispanic man, was embroiled in a dispute with his own uncle, Ruben Tavarez. The source of their conflict was a gold ring that Tavarez believed to be fake.
