In the early morning hours of Saturday, January 2, 2016, the life of 28-year-old Antwone Deonte Smith, an African-American male, was cut short in Las Vegas, Nevada. The incident, which marked the first homicide investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department in the new year, unfolded at the Siegel Slots and Suites located at 5011 E. Craig Road.
