Derek Cooper Jr., aged 28, was fatally shot on April 10, 2015, in downtown Las Vegas. He was found in the living room of a Las Vegas apartment with a gunshot wound to the chest. Police responded to the scene after reports of gunfire, but the investigation initially did not result in an immediate arrest.
