In the quiet expanse of the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, a heart-wrenching discovery was made on Saturday, January 29, 2022. A Bureau of Land Management ranger, patrolling near the Calico Basin, came across an illegally parked vehicle. Inside, the scene told a story of profound tragedy. A one-year-old boy, Zachary Aria Sord, was found lifeless, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound.
