In the late hours of January 6, 2023, a simmering dispute reached its tragic conclusion in a northeast Las Vegas mobile home park, leaving 46-year-old Chad Jensen, a White / Caucasian male, dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident unfolded near the 800 block of North Lamb Boulevard, where Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to reports of gunfire just before midnight. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jensen in the driver's seat of a vehicle, having succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to 38-year-old Theodore Pafundi as the suspect. An ongoing, months-long conflict between the two men over Pafundi's girlfriend had apparently escalated that night. According to police reports, the confrontation turned physical when Jensen allegedly punched Pafundi in the face. In response, Pafundi reportedly drew a Glock 19 and shot Jensen five times.

The day after the fatal shooting, on January 7, 2023, Theodore Pafundi was taken into custody by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and subsequently charged with murder. During questioning, Pafundi admitted to the shooting, stating to detectives that he had "snapped." He further elaborated that "maybe deep down I wanted to shoot this guy." After the shooting, Pafundi had attempted to flee the mobile home park but was prevented from leaving by the timely arrival of law enforcement who had already blocked the entrance. Pafundi was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and held without bail.
