In the summer of 1975, a young Fort Carson soldier's life was cut tragically short in a violent encounter that remains a mystery to this day. Francis Gerald Romisch, a 19-year-old male, was discovered deceased on June 17, 1975, along Highway 115 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. An autopsy would later reveal that the cause of his death was multiple gunshot wounds. The case is being investigated as a homicide by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
