On the evening of October 1, 2020, a burst of gunfire in the 300 block of University Drive in Colorado Springs shattered the night and tragically cut short the life of 38-year-old Jerome Nelson. When Colorado Springs Police Department officers responded to the shots fired call at approximately 7:17 P.M., they discovered two men with apparent gunshot wounds.
