On a Tuesday morning in Denver, Colorado, the life of a 55-year-old white male named Kenneth Holzberg was tragically cut short. It was November 20, 1979, and Holzberg, a jeweler and coin dealer, was at his place of business, the Villa Monaco Jewels Jewelry Store, situated near the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Monaco Parkway. The day took a grim turn when a man armed with a gun entered the store.
A struggle ensued between Holzberg and the armed intruder.
In the midst of this confrontation, a shot rang out, and Holzberg was hit. Despite receiving medical attention, the wound proved fatal, and Kenneth Holzberg died that day from the injuries he sustained during the robbery attempt.
