In the early morning hours of August 6, 2007, the sound of gunshots pierced the quiet near the intersection of West Kentucky Avenue and South Raleigh Street in Denver. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a vehicle with a man inside suffering from a serious gunshot wound. The man, identified as 34-year-old Francisco Raul Jurado-Mercado, was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
