On January 13, 1996, a tragic incident occurred in the 4900 block of West Colfax Avenue in Denver, Colorado, which resulted in the death of 30-year-old Andrew Gallegos. The incident took place in the parking lot of the Purple Turtle, a local establishment. When officers responded to a report of a shooting, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were immediately taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, Andrew Gallegos succumbed to his injuries and died.
