In the summer of 2016, a bright life was tragically cut short in Denver, Colorado. Derrius 'Dae Dae' Woods, a 27-year-old male, was killed by gunfire on June 4th of that year. Born on May 13, 1989, Woods was originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, but his life came to a violent end in the North Park Hill neighborhood of Denver.
The incident that claimed Woods's life was a brutal triple homicide.
Alongside Derrius Woods, two other men, 28-year-old Devonne Burton and 27-year-old Sean Point, also lost their lives in the encounter. Authorities at the time described the grim event as a 'drug deal gone extremely bad,' suggesting a transaction that had spiraled into deadly violence. The loss of three young men sent ripples of grief through their communities, leaving family and friends to mourn their sudden and violent passing.
In the wake of the killings, the Denver Police Department launched an intensive investigation. Their efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrest of suspects believed to be responsible for the triple murder.
