In a tragic incident that unfolded on a Saturday night in Denver, Colorado, a family dispute escalated to a fatal conclusion. Temujin Tim Clark, a 43-year-old male, was shot and killed on April 23, 2016, in the 1500 block of Vrain Street near Sloan's Lake. His father, Dannie Clark, who was 62 at the time, was arrested in connection with the shooting.
According to reports, the evening began with the father and son spending time together, playing a video game and drinking alcohol. An argument broke out between them, leading Dannie Clark to decide to leave his son's home. As he was leaving, he reportedly fell, and he alleged that his son, Temujin, pushed him and then kicked him while he was on the ground. It was at this point that Dannie Clark stated he retrieved a. 25 caliber semi-automatic handgun from his backpack.
Following the initial altercation, Dannie Clark claimed he told his son, 'I will kill you.' He then alleged that as his son approached him, he fired the weapon, believing he shot twice. Shortly after 10 p.m., Dannie Clark himself called the Denver Police, his breath heavy as he told the dispatcher multiple times that he had shot his son. He was instructed to put the gun down, and though he initially refused, he eventually complied.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found Temujin Clark in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. A witness, a medical assistant who lived nearby, rushed to help and found Temujin barely breathing. The witness also saw Dannie Clark on the phone nearby with a gun next to him and reported that he openly admitted, 'I shot my son,' showing little remorse. The witness noted the smell of alcohol on both the victim and the suspect. Temujin Clark was transported to Denver Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy later confirmed his cause of death as gunshot wounds and the manner of death as a homicide. Dannie Clark was taken into custody and is being held on investigation of first-degree murder. He claimed that his son had assaulted him in the past, an altercation which he said resulted in the loss of one of his eyes. Public records indicated that Dannie Clark had a history of arrests for DUI and assault.
